CHAPTER 7 BANKRUPTCY - BUSINESS OR INDIVIDUAL DEBT DISCHARGE
Under the new bankruptcy law, which became fully effectual in October of 2005, an individuals ability to obtain a discharge under chapter 7 has been restricted. If you or your business qualify debts may be discharged while certain exempt assets may be retained by the debtor.
CHAPTER 13 BANKRUPTCY - CONSUMER DEBT REORGANIZATION
For many individuals protecting assets that are not exempt under the bankruptcy code is imperative. Chapter 13 offers a debtor an alternative to a complete liquidation under chapter 7. Chapter 13 is a court ordered restructuring of a persons debt’s payable over a 36-60 month period.
